I am always on the hunt for the best red lip. Seems like the never ending search for me like the perfect LBD, best pair of jeans or best mascara. I was at Ulta a few weeks back, I don't even remember why I was there. When I was pregnant shopping for beauty products was a favorite past time as I never had to worry about whether or not it would fit. Years ago I knew this girl that had this gorgeous orange/red lipstick from NARS and I never found it. This is probably the closest I have come.
The color is called 'Lana' and it is this electric orange/red color. I have only worn it about once so far but it is relatively long lasting. Not as long as your typical matte lip but lasting nonetheless. Often with reds I find that they fade in a way that can make you look a little crazy over the course of the evening. That is not the case with this. This is part of the Audacious Lipstick line that is described a gliding on as satin with saturated color. I would say this is an accurate description of the finish.
It is not a true red but I think this is a going to be a favorite for me this Spring and Summer. The orange tint feels a bit more Spring to me than it does Winter. Maybe I will get to rock it on one of our first date nights ;)
