NYE + #H54F

Happy last Friday of the year. The whole year. That is so strange to write, but it's true. This is a time of reflection and celebration. What the year brought us and what is in store for 2018. Maybe Monday I will do a more reflective post as it has been a transformative year both personally and professionally. If I was thinking more ahead I would have done that today but I just ran out of time.

Christmas Eve Eve Eve + #H54F Link Ups

Happy Friday!! For those of us celebrating Christmas, we are almost there. The last workday before Christmas for most of us. I will be working from home today as my school begins their winter break, which isn't so bad. Also, my computer took for-ev-er to do it's software update so I could not write the longer blog I planned. I will be keeping it short and sweet today.

Christmas LBD

Happy Wednesday! Christmas countdown is T-minus 5 days (4 if you are counting to Christmas Eve, which I do)! Whoo hoo! It's almost here. I hope you all have your shopping done. We did our finishing touches on Monday with just a few small items for the little miss. With the gift-buying behind us I can simply prepare for the fun part: accessorizing.

Monday Round Up: Christmas Outfits + Celebrations

Happy Monday and happy last week before Christmas. I am sensing not wanting to work much this week, thankfully it is a bit of a short week here. I am both ready and not ready for Christmas. I love this holiday so much so I want it to come but also I don't want it to be over. It's a true dilemma, ha! I did not take a ton of pictures this week so I thought I would do a quick round-up and then share my first of three outfit options for Christmas.

Women's Christmas Gift Guide

Happy Friday! Just a little over a week until Christmas! I am super pumped and ready for that. This week overall has been busy but painfully boring to talk about. In lieu of boring you all to tears, I thought I would add to my Wednesday post  of a gift guide for men with a gift guide for women. Is this more like a gift guide for me? Maybe. Will you like it? I think so. Am I biased? Probably. Are you sick of me asking and answering my own questions? Yes.

Ok moving on.

Men's Gift Guide For Christmas

Men's gifts

one / two / three
four / five / six / seven

We are about 12 days out from Christmas and I don't know about you but I am anxiously picking up my last items. Still waiting for a few items to come in (thanks a lot USPS) and still thinking of last minute gift ideas. In that spirit, I thought this would I would create a few gift guides for y'all.

Monday Round Up: Austin City Limits

Happy Monday! Well I had super fun long weekend and I am not ready for this work week to start. I want one more day. The worst part of vacation is coming home and having to work the next day. In an ideal world, I would have one more day off to adjust. I am not the only one that thinks this, right? Too much fun needs another day to adjust to reality.

Today I wanted to take you through our trip to Austin and all the fun places we went so get ready it's going to be a picture heavy post. Also, to clarify we did not see the Austin City Limits festival I just thought it would be a fun play on words that we went to Austin and drove all around the limits ;)

November Stitch Fix + #H54F Link Ups

Happy Friday party people! This week I am coming to you from Austin, TX where I am with some friends celebrating an annual dinner we started a few years ago. I will share more about that on Monday, but it goes without saying I will keep this post short as a result. BUT be sure to follow along on my instagram for all the weekend adventures on @mymonochromaticlife

Baby with Baggallini

If you saw my post on Monday post you saw how I styled  my Baggallini for work. Guess what else? For all y'all mommas (and poppas, any men reading this?) they got your back too. I knew I wanted a backpack diaper bag for multple reasons. One, because I wanted to be more handsfree. Two, I wanted something that D would not be embarrassed to carry around. Also me because I am not into frou frou bags. I really love this bag. The side bottle pockets extend so I could easily put a watter bottle in there too. The inside is actually surprisingly big. I can stick a huge thing of formula in there, toys, extra clothes, etc with ease. The front pocket is for diapers and wipes. It does have some organizational pockets, which I love. I think what I most appreciate is that this looks like a regular backpack. I mean, if there were not bottes on the side you would never know. Anytime you can make baby accessories that don't look like baby accessories, I'm down.

Monday Round Up: Holiday Concerts + Work Chic with Baggallini

Happy Monday all! Who has the Monday blues? This girl. I am not down for it today. I cannot explain it, just not about it. Maybe because I had a good weekend, maybe because it's officially the holiday season that I don't feel like working. I'm just going to say it.

Ok rant over.

I did have a good weekend and I am ready to share a bit with you and what is helping me get through my work week.

Cyber Week + #H54F

Welcome to Friday! Hallelujah!! I am particularly excited this Friday because I get to work from home today. Holla! It has been a bit of a busy week transitioning into the holidays and we are going out of town next week so I am trying to get a few things done this week before that. I also won't lie I had a whole other post planned and then I realized I forgot something ::Head slap:: so I will get it fixed up for next week, scout's honor.

The weather this week has warmed up so it felt a bit like sweatshirt weather. Kind of late in the season for it but, hey, I ain't complaining. I want to soak up the last bit of Fall that I can and I needed the right sweatshirt to do it.

Monday Round Up: Cyber Monday + Relaxin

Happy Cyber Monday folks! I am going to attempt to keep today's post short and sweet as it was a fairly uneventful, but much needed, weekend. I also intend to gets my shop on today so I gotta get to it. This post is going to be pretty baby heavy so I am warning you, but also cute pictures ahead :)

It's Black Friday! The one day a year I do not go shopping. Sorry y'all I just cannot take the crowds. Last year we did most of our shopping online and it was awesome. I intend to do that again. I'm older, more crochety, and have a baby. Big crowds are just not my jam. For those of you braving the stores today: Godspeed. For those of you like me, I have a bunch of promo codes for you today!

Hey! I'm back. Sorry it has been so long. Life got too busy and I just couldn't do it all at once and something had to give. I will try to be more consistent in the future, but I can't promise there won't be times where I miss a post or two. I hope you hang with me, as I have some fun things coming!

Let me give you a little update followed by a little fashion of my life lately!

Tie Sleeves + #H54F

Happy Friday folks! Another Friday I am absolutely ready for, ha! I already feel checked out today. I have some fun plans tonight and a busy weekend. Also, just been a busy week and a break would be welcomed. Anyone else has those serious weekend vibes? I hope you are up to some fun things this weekend like I am!  It also seems like I did not take a lot of picture this week so I am sorry for the lack of them today. I am also linking up with some fun ladies this week!

Scallops for Fall

The weather around here has taken a big turn for the cold and we are actually expecting some snow today. Boo. I am not ready for this. So instead, I plan to play denial with a very fall look. Sound good?

Nothing is much more fall than a little rust color. I really love this color for fall, just so complimentary to all the warm colors of the leaves. It is a great pop of color from an otherwise earthy, fall color palette. This shirt from PinkBlush is flattering because of the fabric and the length. It is a simple top but the scallop details are a great feminine and preppy touch. Layered with a big, comfy sweater, some distressed jeans and booties and I am  ready to take on these last days of fall.

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was definitely a great mix of fun times with friends and some seriously needed couch time.  Halloween weekend is one of my favs and I hope you got a chance to get out and enjoy it! One time a year we get to play dress up as adults. I always take full advantage of this :)

Zombie Crawls + #H54F

Happy Friday! Hope you all had a great week and enjoying beautiful Fall weather like we are here. It's unseasonably warm around and absolutely gorgeous outside. It has been a busy weekend and week for me so I apologize for the distance from the blog. Some weeks the balancing act is more complicated and something had to give, this week it was the blog. Hoping to rest and reboot and get back in the saddle next week.

Lady-like Ruffles

Happy Wednesday! It is full swing fall around here and I have been ditching my more professional attire for cozy sweaters and flattering jeans. I recently got this sweater from PinkBlush and I love it. It is so soft. I cannot express this enough. It is like the inside of a new sweatshirt. You know this? Yes, amazing.

Urban Undercover + #H54F Link Ups

Hallelujah, it's Friday! Am I right? This week has been crazy and it shows no signs of slowing down. Between work, other events and my little lady it's go, go ,go around here so let's get to it shall we?

1. WORK
Ok so I hate to say this again, but seriously this week was nuts. Something seems to be different this year at work and I just can't get on top of this. I need to find a new system I think to get on top of this or wait it out because some of it will pass. Any ideas on how to recalibrate at work? I am open to anything, ha!  So far I have been trying to reconcile that at some point I just have to go home and call it quits for the day. I have to learn when to walk away from the work. I am getting better, and I will stop complaining about this soon.

2. HAIR DAY
I got my hair did this week and we tried a new thing. Last time around I was using this blue shampoo to keep the brassiness out of my hair and it would leave a bit of a residue that looked blue/silver and I got lots of compliments. We tried a lavender toner but it did not really work. This time my stylist, who is my fabulous aunt, tried a new technique called smudging and basically hand smushed around this titanium color. I super love it! It's definitely different but still subtle enough to not be a super crazy color. I think I would be willing to go a little more silver, but am loving this for now!

3. COLLECTIVE MARKET MINNEAPOLIS
This week I also got to participate in this super cool closet swap/pop up shop called Collective Market Minneapolis . Myself, other local bloggers and local folks are selling are gently used clothes. It is at this cute little warehouse space in Northeast Minneapolis and there are some real goodies there! If you are in the area check it out. It runs through Saturday!

4. WEEKEND PLANS
This weekend we are headed up to the cabin. I am pretty much radio silent because there is limited signal up there but I will try to post so follow along. This will be the last time I am up there until next summer. Fall is my favorite time up there. The colors are gorgeous and I love four wheeling. We are bringing the lady with us so not sure how that will work but hoping I get to get out in the woods a little bit. Will report back on Monday!

5. TRAVEL CHIC AND EASY
Last Friday when I went to that rummage sale I discovered this new brand Urban Undercover. I had not really heard of it but my friend had. They sell travel friend products that are also super chic. I bought this little travel pouch because honestly, it had this hilarious saying on it. Then the salesperson showed me the underwear. They are so cool you guys!  They are super travel-friendly as you roll them up and one side says 'Let's go" and when you are done you roll them up and they say "Nope." I should have bought more pairs honestly. They are pricey but they are super comfortable and I love that they roll up for cleanliness and orderliness.  Also when they are unfolded there is a little pocket in the back so if you are at the gym you could hide a key or at a hotel you could as well. Just super convenient. They also have this tote bag I am coveting where the strap is made of a seatbelt! Incredibly sturdy and perfect for a carry on bag. Check them out!

What do you think? Do you have any favorite travel items?
