It's Black Friday! The one day a year I do not go shopping. Sorry y'all I just cannot take the crowds. Last year we did most of our shopping online and it was awesome. I intend to do that again. I'm older, more crochety, and have a baby. Big crowds are just not my jam. For those of you braving the stores today: Godspeed. For those of you like me, I have a bunch of promo codes for you today!

Given that it is Black Friday and most of us are probably in a after-turkey hangover,  I am going to keep this short and sweet today. Work this week was complicated. We only had three days but Reese got a virus partway through Monday so D had to pick her up and I stayed home with her on Tuesday. Poor thing, usually when she is sick you can hardly tell but she was lethargic and vomiting (sorry). I have not seen her like that and it was sad and frustrating. Out of this frustration, I finally committed to some essential oils. I went to a class a few months ago and I connected with the woman who hosted it and she is going to help me out. Reese is sick so much, I am going to try anything to help.

A friend of ours who moved away a couple of months ago was in town this week. We had to rearrange a few things but it was good to see him and have a few friends over early in the week. Reese was not feeling so hot but she did pretty good with everyone.

Thursday was the big day. We headed up to our in-laws for an early Thanksgiving. Thankfully Reese was feeling better by then, but D and I weren't. We both have some nasty colds and it's super fun.

Except not.

I tried to snap a picture of her Turkey Day look but she did not want to sit still, even with Grandma's help. We all ate a lot and watched the Vikings game, which we WON! Hallelujah! Reese was a bit of a pill. I think all the shouting was more than she is used to. She did take a decent nap, which helped a little.

I also switched up the hair a bit I parted it on the side and a little braid. I won't lie, I was watching RHOC Reunion this week and Tamara had a side part and braid. Inspiration hit! haha. I thought it was fun.

I hope you all had a great day full of yummy food, family, and friends! I also hope you don't have to work today :)

Ok so for the good stuff. I always like to dress up a bit for Thanksgiving but also bear in mind that I am going to eat a lot. I found this dress as part of the same impulse purchase from Wednesday's post. I did not even try it on I knew it would fit and I was right. I fell in love with the pattern on this. I love that it is a bit floral but not at the same time. It's mixed in with a few other items that make it seem very fall floral. I also loved the cut of this on the collar and the back. The collar is this unique square cut, very subtle but just a unique detail. I am also a big fan of anything with a back cut out. It is almost like a reverse bar neck. Just a hint or romantic femininity.  I kept it simple with the jewelry. This crystal necklace has a hint of pink that picks up the pinks in the dress, some delicate bracelets and a classic hat. It was a comfortable but dressed up look for gettin' my grub on! Oh! Did I mention the dress had pockets? It has pockets! Ladies, you know what this means. #gameover
