Splurge

Steal

The first week of December in the books. Are you all shopped out yet? We did a fair amount of our shopping on cyber Monday, but still have some odds and ends to pick up before Christmas. With all the gift guides floating around I wanted to add something different to the pile.

Christmas can be a challenge at times. Often what I would really want for Christmas is something more expensive. Something I wouldn't buy myself. I'm financially stable enough to purchase most moderately priced items, so I struggle every year between giving people lots of choices or just asking for maybe 1 or 2 big things. That got me thinking that if you were in that boat as well, it might be nices to have some options. I put together a list of splurge choices for if you just wanted to ask for a big ticket item, but also still found some fun and wearable pieces for your wardrobe. Some good staple pieces.

When it comes to big-ticket items I think of accessories and coats. Coats are typically expensive, but trust me totally worth it. A cheap coat will have a button fall off or a zipper gets out of wack. Buy a great coat and keep it for years. This gray number is a classic and will never go out of style. I am also eyeing the snakeskin boots. The silhouette is cool and edgy and I have enough gray and black in my closet these will work for most things. This shimmery dress would be great for an NYE party or if you have a winter birthday and want to get all glammed up.

For you looking for more choices, this black bootie is perfect. A simple black bootie but would work with jeans, skirts and dresses. Not too dressy that limits the occasion it can be worn and black goes with everything. Leopard is everywhere and I liked how the cowl neck worked here. The bag is a little funky but the price point is great and it being black keeps it workable for multiple occasions.

What do you think? Would you splurge or steal?
