Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. I will be honest I did not do much this weekend and it was glorious! Also, turns out I took no pictures. Whoops, sorry about that.

We had a bit of a change of plans at the last minute. We were supposed to go out of town but a few things changed and we wound up not going.  So instead on Friday D and I stayed in and watched old Nip/Tuck. He found the discs cheap at a pawn shop. I forgot how much I really liked/hated the early seasons of that show.

Saturday was a bit more all over the place. In the morning we had to help my sister move and headed back home to clean up a bit because my parents were coming over for dinner. I did get a little nap in. I cannot think the last time I got to do that, it was amazing.  Later that night my parents came over and we,(D), made dinner. We, (D), made this interesting chicken marinade and strawberry salad. So.good. We are trying to get back on the healthy eating bandwagon and this was a good step in the right direction.

Sunday it was game day and I got to see my cousin and her baby girl for the first time! She finally moved home from out of state (yay) and I had not seen her in a while. Her little daughter is so cute and smiley. I am so pumped for them to be back and her and Reese can grow up together. I also set up a Shop My Closet over @mymonochromaticcloset so check it out!  Also, the Vikes won so hooray!

Only downside of the weekend was the heat. Basically 90 degrees all weekend long , what the heck? It is the end of September and it feels like July. Le sigh. It did, however, inspire this look. I am trying to be more professional in some ways so I am upping my game with dress pants for work. Target has this new brand A New Day and I love all their stuff. Expect an update on this soon. I really loved these blue pants from their line. Surprisingly good quality too. Thick and good stretch to be comfortable but appropriate for work. On a hot day, I wanted to pair it with this old reliable mixed media tank from Banana Republic. Although it needed a layering piece. I got this long vest from Cabi last winter and I can finally wear it. I really liked the layering here and because the clothes themselves had no patterns I layered a lot of jewelry. I know the weather will change any minute, but as long as it's hot gotta dress the part, right?
