Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. I had a very busy weekend actually and am looking forward to a short week for me. I will be lying out this Friday so it's a four day week! Holla! Just have to hang on for four days. I can do that, right?

Before I get into  my weekend too much, I plan to have some fun and unique Valentine's looks on the blog this week.  D and I don't really celebrate Valentine's so I thought it would be nice for those of you who aren't big in celebrating either might have some fun ways to dress the part anyway :)

On to the weekend!

Friday was a friend's birthday. He moved out of Minnesota a few months ago but came back in town to celebrate his birthday. We had only seen him one other time since he moved so it was good to be able to celebrate with him. D was out of town this weekend so my parents came over to babysit Reese for a couple of hours so I could go. We met them at his old house for a few drinks. He was going to go out after and I had to go home, cause Reese, ha. It was very good to see him and I was happy to celebrate another birthday with him.

Saturday I met with my cousin at Mall of America to go shopping. I honestly don't know the last time I just aimlessly walked around the mall. I have gone to the mall to grab things or peruse maybe one store. But wander around? No. Let alone at Mall of America. I was really excited both to see her and her little daughter, but to actually shop around a bit. It took forever to get Reese ready and out of the house, then parking there was a disaster. It's always busy there but I was surprised how bad it was. I was ready to throw down by the time I got there. Thankfully, the heaven's opened up and I got the best parking spot I have ever gotten in my whole life. We shopped around, caught up, got some lunch at Shake Shack ( I had never been) and got out of there just in time to get Reese home for dinner and bed. It was an awesome day. I picked up a few things I can't wait to show you.

Sunday was Reese's picture day. She turns 1 at the end of the month (holy cow!) and we wanted to get her pictures done so we could order invites for her birthday. With us being out of town back to back weekends I thought it better to do it with me. I am more particular about these things and, let's be honest, I am her stylist ;) I tried to get a good nap in for her and plan it at a time of day she would be in a good mood, but best laid plans...She napped but was very wiggly at the photoshoot. It was just hard to get her to do anything.  We got a couple good shots, but not what I hoped. The ones we got I think will work though so that's all that matters.

With all that being said I wanted to share my Valentine's look #1. For those of you who just want a casual V-day or are more of a 'tee shirt and jeans' kind of gal, I think I found the look for you. Brought to you mostly by Target. Their new lines A New Day and Universal Thread are breathing new life into Target fashion. Almost this entire look you can get at Target for an incredibly affordable price. I really loved this top, which was the inspiration for the whole look.  I love an easy V-neck tee and when saw this pinkish, ombre one at Target I swiped it up quick. I bought a medium because I like it a little baggier. I love that it hints at Valentine's colors without slapping you in the face. I kept it a little simple with some delicate, but sparkly necklaces. A great jean and a cardigan. This purse I also really am obsessed with. I bought it for my upcoming trip but I am wearing it everywhere. It is small enough for light travel but big enough to put in some makeup items, etc. Top the whole look off with some sparkly shoes, because why not? An easy and casual look for a chill Valentine's.
