Happy Valentine's Day! So welcome to look #2 for Valentine's this week. This is my most
Valentine-y this week. As I posted on Monday, D and I don't make a big thing about it. Maybe a card, maybe some flowers (I mean, no one hates getting flowers) but we don't do dinner or anything like that. I do still like to dress the part because even as an adult, I like to play dress up.

I got this sweater on sale the other week from J.Crew in an effort to have some moderately Valentine's-esque. Last year as I was only about 2 short weeks away from the birth of my daughter so I sported a big ol' sweatshirt (re:last year). This year I wanted to be a bit more figure flattering because I can. I loved the simplicity of the "bonjour" embroidered on the top in a vibrant, Valentine's red. Plus, anything in French always has a romantic quality about it, right? There is always a romanticism there so I love to bring the francais vibe to the day of love. Since I will be working all day today I paired it with these amaze velvet tuxedo pants from Loft. I really love the look of these pants. I am still into velvet, I cannot help myself. The tuxedo stripe is just a fun detail to add some serious luxe to this look. I really debated what shoes to pair this whole look with. I think an oxford or loafer felt as too obvious a choice. I have these red sneaks from Superga and considering red is the color of the day, I had to. Right?! I also feel like it adds a surprise element and a high-low quality here.
