Happy Monday! Welcome back to another week and right before a holiday weekend. It is so close to summer we can taste it, right? This weekend was a bit of a mixed bag of weather and activities. This upcoming week is definitely going to be a busy one and we plan to head out of town to visit a friend over the holiday, so definitely lots to look forward to!

Friday was an odd day. I ended up staying home from work because Reese got sent home from daycare the day before.  D and I try to trade off and he stayed home a couple of times in the winter and now it's my turn, which is good but it is definitely going to make my next week extra busy. Reese has been extra fussy lately, I think she is finally getting some more teeth. She has been rocking three teeth for some time like a little hillbilly and, understandably, it hurts.  She is definitely pulling some Oscar award-winning crying scenes. It was a long day. That night D and I stayed in. The night before I saw a concert with my dad and  Saturday I had plans so a night in was necessary. D read my mind when he went to the store and came back with the Black Panther DVD . We watched that before hitting the hay pretty early.

Saturday went quickly. D had to go help a friend so I was home with the little monster. I tried to get some cleaning done the rare occasion that Reese would sit still and not demand to be held. I don't know what it is about warmer temps but I feel the need to clean a lot more. With a baby, two dogs and a husband, the work never stops. I also got some laundry done so I felt pretty productive. D got home and I was able to run one errand before I headed out for the night. A while ago we bought tickets for this show at the History Theater . I saw another show he once and they also do a show, sometimes original content, that has a Minnesota connection. It's a relatively small theater and the kind of show where the case plays multiple characters throughout. The show was called Lord Gordon Gordon and tells the true story about a con man who came to Minnesota in about 1871 and swindled people out of a lot of money. We were not really familiar with this story but the writers (both the book and songs) did another show we saw that we absolutely loved. I will say it started a little slow but it picked up. It was really funny and the music was great. I saw the show with both of my parents as well as my Nonna and Great Aunt, who I have not seen in some time. Always nice to spend an evening with family.

Sunday D went fishing with his friends for most of the day.  I had texted my aunt earlier in the week, who also happens to be my hair stylist, that my bands are out of control. She was going to my parents that day anyway and said she could trim them up for me. Reese and I headed over there for a couple of hours. My aunt fixed my bangs, thank God, and we hung out on my parents' deck for a bit. We only were able to hang out a bit because it was Reese's nap time and she was not.having.it. I spent the rest of Sunday lazying about. When D got home I passed out on the couch for an hour, I was so exhausted. I am normally not a napper but I was in desperate need.  Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day so just being able to relax with the windows open was an absolutely glorious way to end the weekend.

The weather this weekend was a bit odd. All week it was hot, like 90s hot. My office is always freezing, but outside it's hot. This weekend the weather got cooler again. Highs in the low 60s so after a few days of 90s it felt really cold. I pulled out a few items I picked up a few weeks ago to accommodate this change. For a long while, I had this cardigan from Madewell on my wishlist. It was a little out of my price range so I kept an eye on it. I saw it go on sale but it wasn't in my size. I ordered a size bigger and I was swimming in it. At long last my size came in and I jumped on it. This is a bit of a cold weather sweater (I linked some summer ones) but I love it! So soft, Madewell never disappoints. When I saw this cami from Target I knew it would go perfectly together. With this combo I could wear with dress pants for work or jeans for the weekend. I love the little chiffon trim on the neckline and this leaf-type print. The leaf print can work for summer and fall because of the earth tone colors. I always like to buy options that are versatile and, ideally, can be worn year round. For this weekend I paired these with my high waisted jeans from Express. I am a huge fan of the waist these days. To keep it more on the summery side I finished the look with these espadrilles that are a great dupe for Chole pair. Target to the rescue again for my wallet!

I do love this look and as the weather gets warmer I can ditch the cardigan and just wear the cami. Definitely looking forward to summer! What do you think?  How do you transition to your looks to night and to summer?

Also linking up with Bloved Boston to share about my weekend!
