Happy Wednesday! Welcome back to work after a long weekend! I had a great time and more to come on that later this week. In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to get a little work wear inspo to get us through these long weeks in summer. I know I always feel better when I have a good outfit on and I will definitely be breaking out my favorite this week. Because who wants to be at work when you could be at the beach?
Since returning to work after having Reese I felt like I wanted to up my work wear game. I don't have to dress up for work, but I am a big believer in how dressing the part puts you in the right mindset. Also, I interact a lot with people and want to put my best foot forward. I bought a few things, but I have since lost a little weight and pants in particularly were feeling a little loose. Express is my go-to for work pants. Sometimes the price point is a little eesh, but legit the quality is wonderful. These are the kinds of pants you have for years. I like a classic fit in pants that can work with both flats and heels so I can wear them year round. I needed a basic pair of black pants and these ones are perfect! Mid-rise (because I am not 22 years old) , a little bit of stretch but do not lose their shape. Slightly thicker fabric that is warm enough for winter as well. I probably should have bought another color, but black is a great place to start. I went into Express looking for pants and this shirt caught my eye. Their city shirt is kind of their signature. It's a classic button up that never goes out of style. They come in a variety of colors, so great options. This one I just was immediately attracted to. Like, walk all the way across the store attracted to. I love a mauve color and these unevenly placed polka dots I thought were super chic. It also seems like the mauve is interwoven with a cream fabric, which gives it a chambray-like feel. A unique pattern I had to have. I also knew this would work well with these Madewell loafers that are a closet staple. I layered a cardigan over this to add some extra texture and color to neutralize the pattern a bit, or if your office is the kind with a frigid A/C unit.
