Happy Monday party people! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend like I did. This weekend was super hot in Minneapolis so I tried to balance being outside with also being inside so as not to overheat. I desperately wanted to be outside as much as possible seeing as we get very few nice days. I also had a pretty busy weekend so I'll get to it.

Friday was an 'in' night. I am too old to go out two nights in a row. D finished the closet on Friday night. Well almost, we just need one more shelf on top of the clothing rack but it's done. The most important thing is the shoe shelf. It.is.glorious. My dreams have been realized. We debated a bit before setting on this design. Mind you, I wasted no time to move in trust. It is so nice to have some real space in the closet for a change. I am in love.

Saturday my girl Candice, She's Leaning In,  came to town and we shopped until we dropped. We hit up Excelsior because there was a boutique I wanted to check out called Buck + Fir. We started there, then wandered around for a bit before grabbing lunch. It was steamy out so our energy wore pretty quickly. Then we headed over to the Shops at West End to finish out our day.

Aren't we cute?
After she went home I met up with D and some friends to just hang out. Perfect Saturday.

Sunday was Father's Day. My sisters and I planned to take my dad out to lunch. We went to Oxcart Ale House in St. Paul. It was a really nice place. Mostly hamburgers, sandwiches and sausages. I opted for a sausage because they are made in-house. It was a chicken pork sausage with mustard seeds. Yum. After we ate we headed up to their rooftop. They have an amazing view of CHS field and the bluffs of St. Paul. It was really hot though I'll admit, 90 degrees and sunny. Thank goodness for some wind or we would have burned up. I did get a little sunburned, first one of the summer. It was a good day.

There ya have it. It was a pretty great weekend. For these hot summer days light weight dresses are a must. I picked up this little number from local favorite Primp the other week. It is one of my favorite designers. This dress is almost velvety soft. I love this muted red as you do not often see that in the summer time. I love the cold shoulder look, provides a little showing of skin without too much exposure. A dress like this is perfectly simply. Throw on a pendant and a block heel and you are good to know. Very little thought required. Keep it casual.
