Lately, I have been trying to dress more professionally at work. I don't have it, it's pretty casual where I work. At the same time, I want to. I think some degree of professional attire is appropriate to be taken seriously at what I do. Some days, like last Friday when I wore distressed jeans, I don't care about it so much. However, other days I definitely do. This look I pulled together from items I previously had in my closet. I bought these trousers from Banana Republic when I was still newly pregnant. They are a dark wash of a denim, but more pant material than denim material. I very rarely wear a boot cut but with this style, I prefer it. I like the dark wash because it is slimming and it has buttons at an angle up the side that I have always been obsessed with. Who doesn't like buttons? I took a chance when I bought these that I would ever fit into them again. Honestly, I totally forgot I had them until I was going through my things again. To my surprise, they fit and rather comfortably I might add. I have been trying to find things to pair with them. Enter this top!  I got it in my most recent Stitch Fix (post here) and it is a perfect fit. The tie in front and stripe in the back are the perfect touch of fashion edge, but the fabric and pattern keep it professional. I paired it with this fan necklace, which has been a major go-to for me lately. It's light, which is great for summer. I topped the look off with the Calvin Klein oxfords because I thought the white bottoms matched the stripe on the back of the top. I feel ready to take on the day in this look, which is always how I know I have hit the mark!
