For Whom the Bell Sleeves Tolls / My Monochromatic Life

Have we talked about lately how much I love the color mustard? I am obsessed. I cannot help myself, I am totally stuck on this trend so expect to keep seeing it from me for a while.

On a recent shopping trip to one of my favorite local places ,Apricot Lane, I snagged another mustard top for my collection. If you follow them on instagram, you might have seen this as part of my takeover I did a few weeks ago. What I really love about this top are the bell sleeves and the knotted front. First, I love any top that hides my midsection. It's just not the spot I feel most comfortable so anything to camoflauge feels good to me. The knot does just that and is pretty on trend for all the various ways they are showing up on shirts these days. This top is a little shorter (at least on me I am 5'8") so a high waisted jean is necessary. Secondly, I love the bell sleeves. They are so comfy, and a little dramatic. Who doesn't love some good drama? ;) I think they balance out the fitted part of the shirt well.

Like I said a high waisted jean is necessary for this top, good thing that's basically all I wear these days. These jeans are old that I got at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but I linked up a few similar ones. I liked the ankle cut with this top to balance out the sleeves and highlight these shoes. I have shown the shoes before, from Target, and as long as there isn't snow on the ground you can keep wearing them. Such a cool shape, I love how they look and add kind of a hipster vibe.
