Happy Monday! Two Mondays from now it is going to be Christmas Eve, can you believe it? I am counting down the days and ready for some serious time off with my family. Who's with me? That also means holiday parties are in full swing. I went to my first official party this week and got all dolled up!

Every year we have a Turducken dinner with some friends. Not familiar? It's chicken, inside a duck inside turkey. Or a duck inside a chicken, I am not sure of the logistics. A friend of ours who gets curious about odd things like this found it 4-5 years ago and decided to have a dinner. We had so much fun the first year we have been doing it ever since. Everyone brings a dish to share and it's delicious.

I usually wear some holiday but forgiving because all we are doing is stuffing our faces. This year our friend found a pumpcapple pie cake. Apparently, that's a thing. It was 26lbs and three layers of a cake with pie inside. It was...a sight. I actually had a bit of the chocolate layer and it was good. I heard the spice part was not though.

Anyway, this year I decided to follow suit on the velvet trend. I got this top from my latest Stitch Fix and am in love. Very on trend and I have been obsessed with burgundy for a year. A  perfect little V-neck that leaves just enough room for a delicate necklace. This velvet has kind of sheen to it so it fits very well with the holiday theme. I wanted to be comfortable so I paired them with these black jeans from Gap. These jeans are legit, it's part of their True Black and they do not fade. These are more of a medium rise but they have a lot of stretch so they are super comfortable. The top is not very long but I liked how it looked with just a front tuck. Just enough for some definition. I layered over it this blazer I thrifted from the Collective Market a couple of months ago. I snagged a J.Crew blazer for crazy cheap! I topped it off with these bronze metallic heels. Metallic screams holiday time of year. They are the best time to whip those out so you match the Christmas tree ;) The bronze color matches the darker tones of the top. I completed the look with some rose gold jewels, most of which I got from Rocksbox. I especially loved the Gorjana earrings. I shared them on my stories, you're gonna want to get them.
