Are you ready for Monday? I know I am not. But it is Fiji week here at our household and I could not be more excited. I only have to work 3 days this week so I shouldn't complain too much. I had a pretty busy weekend so let's get started!

Friday night we went out to celebrate Derek's birthday. It was a small group but we were determined to have a good time. We started out the nigh at our favorite Donny Dirk's Zombie Den. It is literally his favorite bar in Minneapolis, plus our favorite bartender is leaving and we wanted to see him before he goes. Since there was only five of us we sat at the bar and ordered a few drinks. Per usual there was a strange cast of characters at the bar. We had one girl who thought she as Carrie Bradshaw from the opening credits of SATC and a loner trying to randomly make conversation. We sat further down on the bar than we usually do and sat right in front of a mirror. So basically I could watch myself the whole time which honestly was a bit unsettling. But of course, I took a creeper selfie.

After Donny Dirk's we headed over to a dive bar 1029 not far from where we were. They happened to have karaoke and one of our friends really likes to sing. We hung out there the remainder of the evening. Even my sister and her fiance joined us, it happened to be here birthday as well. I have to say I was pretty proud of us old folks we hung out until 1:30 AM! I have not done that in a long time. ::self high five::

On Saturday I ran a few errands. I got up and headed straight to the gym. Gotta get bikini ready for Fiji! After that I got my nails did! We are going to be gone for 10 days and I don't want to worry about nails so thought a shellac mani/pedi would be the way to go. I went to the Simonson's Spa and Salon. I went there once before to do spa day and was very pleased with their work and customer service. Even though they are a bit on the pricey side, totally worth it if you can afford it. I struggled with what color to pick because normally if I am going tropical I would be a tropical color, but I did not want to come home in October with neon pink nails. I consulted my cousin, of She's Leaning In, and she suggested this taupe type color. I love it! They did a fantastic job, I highly recommend them.

That night we went out celebrate both Derek and my sister's birthday with my family. After much debate we settled on Red Cow in Minneapolis. I really love this restaurant. Some of the best burgers in the cities. They have a bunch of locations so check 'em out! A couple of highlights were I drank wine out of a glass the size of my face and we had mini donuts for dessert. Mini donuts!! I was in heaven.

See? Enormous.

Afterwards we walked across the street to hit up W.A. Frost's outdoor patio. Probably the most gorgeous patio in the Twin Cities. It has brick floor, twinkly lights, fireplace and outdoor bar and kitchen. I don't get there often enough. If you haven't been go there immediately! I could not resist snapping a few pics because it was just too beautiful on Saturday. We drank and talked until about 11:30 when everyone started looking sleepy. We headed home where I sat with my new favorite scarf draped around my bedazzled necklace. I felt like a glamorous hot mess and I have to share it with you all.

Sunday was kind of a perfect day. We cleaned the house and although I hate cleaning I love nothing more than a clean home. I did laundry and got a lot of packing done for the trip. I relaxed the remainder of the day and blogged to the sound of the rain. Perfection.

I want to share my look for Saturday. I did not have time to snap my Friday look but when I get back from the trip I will share it. I really loved my look on Saturday. I picked up these shorts over the labor day sale at J.Crew Factory and I am in love. I am not a huge fan of showing my legs too much so the longer cut is perfect for me. Not to  mention this color! How fantastic is this? I am obsessed. I also picked up this tank from Primp and thought it was fitting as it represents St. Paul and that's where we were headed. Represent! I just got this Mirina collections necklace in the mail this week so I knew no matter what I wore this would be a part of the look. It just took this whole look up a notch. Lastly, I picked up these shoes on Saturday. I have been looking everyone for a pair of shoes like this. These were great except the bottoms are a bit slippery so I will have to work through that. But otherwise I think they were pretty on point. What do you think? Leave me a comment below I would love to hear from you!
