Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ready for another one? This past weekend was a scorcher in Minneapolis. Temperatures in the 90s! I really couldn't believe it. This is July weather and we are usually well done with this by now. Checking the weather ahead, looks like it's on its way out by Tuesday which I am ok with. Lots of people in the cities took advantage of the heat for one final hurrah. I, on the other hand pretty much stayed indoors.

Friday was D's birthday, which he hates. So we just stayed in and I let him pick the movie to rent. We're pretty exciting, right? ;) Saturday D went to help my parents with something and it took all day, we weren't expecting that. So the little lady and I headed to a play area in a local mall. It was way too hot to play outside and we both needed out of the house. Overall she did pretty well there, but I had to run a few errands and she was a struggle there. We made it through but by the skin of our teeth. Sunday we had a baby shower/Minnesota Vikings game. Our friends hosted (the ones having the baby) and there was a big Chipotle spread and a gorgeous cake, a few gifts and then an exciting game. That we inevitably tied, oh well.

Overall I would say it was a good weekend and I took advantage in some lighter wear. Pajama tops were a big trend and I am still loving them. I picked this top up awhile back and have not been able to show it off properly until now. I snagged this at my favorite Chicago boutique Alice + Wonder and it's a fan favorite for me. I love how the pajama top is casual but chic at the same time. How does this happen? I have no idea but I really love it. I could see dressing this up more with a skirt or cropped pant, but for this look I kept it casual for a Sunday brunch or shopping with friends. What really sold me on this one was the black piping on the shirt. It creates a fantastic silhouette and some structure on what is otherwise a flowy top. This exact top is unfortunately sold out, but I linked some similar ones. I wanted to keep it casual so a staple high waisted jean and these black mules I got at the Nordstrom sale (and are on repeat about 4 days a week) were the perfect match.
