Happy Halloween! This is one of my absolute favorite holidays! We have been having parties with friends since my freshmen year of college. They aren't as rowdy as they once were, but we still have a great time.
Some years I am really good about planning ahead and getting a good costume and some years it's a real struggle. As I get older you just get less time to think about these kinds of things. So I thought I would do a quick round up of some last minute costume ideas.
1. Rosie the Riveter: Spoiler alert this is what I was this year. I did manage to find a jumpsuit and a headband that looked like a handkerchief. However, if I were dressing up for work or something this is pretty easy. All you need is a chambray top, a boyfriend jean, boot and handkerchief. Oh and a great red lip. It was the easiest costume I have ever done and the most comfortable.
2. Black Cat: I admit I channeled Mean Girls a bit with this one. A sexy outfit and some animal ears do get the job done. Cat ears are also frighteningly easy to find. The Spanx leggings are a little pricey but you will wear these a hundred times over and so worth it. All you need is a basic black tee and some boots. I added this faux fur stoll from Target to add a little texture element, or a fur vest works well too.
3. Audrey Hepburn: A few years ago a friend of mine did his from items in her closet. A la Breakfast at Tiffany's a black shift dress is close enough to make the look work and you can find one anywhere, like this one from Target. I also found inexpensive and easy pearls and a tiara at Forever21. Who says you have to spend a ton of money on a costume?
Hope you have a fun and safe Halloween! What are your plans?
