Ready for another Valentine's post coming at ya! We're getting closer to the big day and plans are solidifying. Next weekend D and I are going out of town with another couple friend of ours. It's kind of Valentine's thing but also just an excuse to get out of town. I am outfit planning and thinking about how casual vs dressy I want to be on this trip. Wednesdays' look is probably too dressy for where we are staying I needed another look.

Monday was a casual look, super glam was Wednesday today is a mix of both. A little sexy but not over the top. For this post I didn't buy anything new, I just shopped my closet. Which is an appeal to this look because I think when you re-work pieces in your closet they can work like new again. I really wanted to bring this skirt into the game. I am obsessed with this skirt and try to find opportunities to work it. For a mini skirt it walks that fine line of sexiness but at age 33 I think I can still work it. Side note: I was told the other day I was too old for something, although my friend was right it shook me a bit. Don't take this mini from me! Ha! I do think the velvet on this keeps it a bit more mature, versus if it was leather or a knit of some kind. This mini, in particular, has the stud details on the side which gives it a rocker vibe. I also had this red sweater sitting in my close I love. It has a cross back design so not appropriate for the office but perfect for a date night. I would normally wear this tucked in but given that the skirt is a bit high waisted it works. It doesn't hide the fun back detail but keeps it more conservative in the front to balance out the mini skirt.

For accessories, I just love these boots with it. The studs on the skirt match the studs on the skirt. I also think this maintains the more casual vibe versus if I paired it with a heel. I really feel like you can wear these shoes with anything, but they were made for this skirt. The shoes are a real star here so I only added a pair of statement earrings. These fringe earrings are such a Valentine's vibe to match the pink and the red together. Definitely fun and flirty, ready for a date night.
