On Monday I showed a really casual look for those of you keepin' it chill this Valentine's Day. My holiday is always pretty relaxed as D and I rarely do anything special. So let's think of Monday's post as the reality and today's post is a little fantasy. For some of you, maybe it's your reality so take this blog as you like it. :)

I actually wore this outfit almost identically when I saw Hamilton a couple of weeks ago in Chicago. I told people that I felt like I was part of the bourgeois, ha! I think it was this leopard coat. I have to be honest, this whole look was built around this. I had been eyeing this coat on Alice + Wonder's website for some time but it was a little pricey for me so I had to hold off. How often in my life could I justify wearing a leopard coat? I don't work some Andy Sachs, Runway, Vogue job and would look silly in this most days. I needed a reason and I needed a good price point. Eventually, after much stalking watching it went on major sale! At that point I couldn't resist, I could justify finding a few ways to wear this. This coat basically stole the show and the rest of the look built itself. I did link the coat at other locations at full price but keep an eye out I am sure it will go on sale soon.

I truly love shopping in small boutiques, sometimes you see similar pieces at major retailers but I have discovered other brands that I truly love. Another local boutique that is a favorite of mine is Apricot Lane. I love shopping there for fun dresses that walk the line between casual and dressy. When I tried this dress on I knew I loved it immediately. First, I love a midi look. I am on the taller end so this works well for me, not the best if you're petite. This is bodycon but the material is more of a cotton/jersey type knit. So second, I love that this can be dressed up or down. Third, it's sleeveless so you can wear a regular bra, praise! It's super comfortable and is accented perfectly under the coat. Leopard can go from classic to tacky very quickly, so a teeny dress is not what the doctor ordered. I wanted to keep this look glam so I added these statement earrings for some bling. You could also do a great ear crawler, but I kind of wanted to play dress up. I completed the look with some nude sock booties. A little tip, a nude heel will make your legs look longer. A win-win!
