Recently I got my Bite Beauty Vox box. I have not received a Vox Box in some time and was super excited to get this one. Any time I get to try new make up is a good day.  I had not heard of this brand before but was excited to give it a try. I have recently come to love a lip pencil with my lipstick since trying the Kylie lipsticks. I naturally have very thin lips and the lip pencil helps me overdraw my lip without looking like a crazy person. I also find they are very helpful with using a very dramatic color to keep it in line, so to speak :) That said I received two drastically different colors for free to try.

I received two color from their Amuse Bouche lipstick collection. This collection boasts ingredients of resveratrol for long wear, antioxidants, creaminess and increased hydration.  I am fairly picky about my lipsticks. These days I am partial to matte lips because I like the look and the benefit of the long wear. I am, however, open to try new kinds all the time to see what else is out there.

I first tried the whiskey color. I was attracted to this vampy shade immediately and wanted to see how it would look now that I am back to blonde. When I was a redhead I was more tentative but I think with my brighter hair I can branch out. Seems the lip pencils are the promotional item here. They are debuting on Sephora next week so not yet available for purchase. Spoiler alert: they are amazing. I have tried many lip pencils from basic drug store brands to Kylie cosmetics to Urban Decay. This is hands down the best I have tried. It draws on smooth and easy. I don't have a lot of patience and getting ready in the morning is always mad dash. I don't like have to apply the pencil so slowly to get a nice even line or have to drag it to get the color to stay. This is just as smooth as the lipstick itself. It is also the now old wooden pencil. I don't like the new plastic ones, sharpening them is a pain. I highly recommend these.

As far as these two colors go I loved them both. Whiskey, like I said, is a purple vampy type color. Definitely not for every day wear but perfect for a fun night out. Honeycomb is a brownish nude. A nude seems like an easy color in theory but finding the right kind of nude is hard for me. I prefer ones with a brown tone versus a pink tone. This would easily blend with my daily routine. I suspect this will be a staple in my beauty routine.

Overall assessment? This is a win. Definitely pick up a shade (there are 34!) and snag a lip pencil to go with it. You won't regret it.
