It's Friday, Friday, something something Friday....

Ok I don't know the lyrics but it is Friday and I am grateful for it. It has been a super long week around here. I celebrated with a great last day look I am so excited to share with y'all!

In this past week I was just go, go, go. I work at a school and it was the final week of school. On these kinds of weeks, there is always a kind of buzz around the building. Kids were busy with finals, teachers were busy grading, staff was busy making sure seniors graduated. I was desperately trying to fit everything in amongst this. I was getting to work early and staying late basically every day. This meant I was getting up even earlier to exercise before work than I normally do. Getting up about 5:30 AM , which is a stupid time of day. No one should be awake then. No one.

Work has just been really stressful for some time and I am about ready for a change of pace. Summer slows down a little bit, but brings it's own level of stress. I am hoping at least the change of season will help with some of the stress.

Not to mention that D headed out of town on Wednesday for his annual fishing trip and will be gone for a few days.  This leaves me and the little lady to entertain ourselves. This also means I am in charge of her on work mornings, which is usually a D job. She is also a busier little lady so I am just trying to keep up.

All in all, I would describe this week as exhausting. I decided to reward myself with my favorite dress. I was eyeing this dress way back when I was shopping for our Mexico trip. At the time I was all "I have enough dresses" which D reminded me of when I tried to buy this then. This has been on my radar and I have been waiting for the sale to justify it. After a few long weeks I decided "whatevs, it's mine." Sometimes I try to delay buying things if I think it is an impulse purchase. You know the old saying "if you love something let it go..." then it ends like "if it's meant to be it will return." That's not exactly it, but you know what I mean. If I find that I am still loving something after a couple of weeks then I know it is not impulsive. This purple heather color is so gorgeous. I think it is such a unique color, but almost in a neutral category that you can do so much with. I dressed this up for the last day of school. Who doesn't put together a whole look for the last day of school? I always did and I always do. I super love the ruching on this because it very figure flattering for those of us not as comfortable in a true bodycon dress. I originally bought a small, but the fabric is pretty thin and it was just a bit too tight in the booty. The medium fit more conservatively so I could wear it to work. The crossover cut in the front too helps to elongate the legs and create a flattering silhouette. I paired this with my favorite fringe earrings from BaubleBar. I freakin' love these and wear them all the time. I also decided to pair these wedges from Target. Obviously anytime a heel is paired with a dress it makes your legs look long and slim, and I am all about that life. I also layered the denim jacket for work, and because my office is freezing. I could also totally see this with some gorgeous sandals and more casual jewelry. I could even dress it up with a true heel and statement necklace for a night out. A totally versatile dress and come in a million colors! I may bit the bullet and get another one because it is too cute!
