Happy Monday all! These last few days has been what a real Minnesota winter feels like. We have been fairly couped up all weekend. On Friday I had a blog event and thank the Lord there was covered parking. Like some kind of crazy person, I decided not to wear tights. Saturday we celebrated my birthday with my family but we bundled up a lot as the weather was starting to turn. With the weather being so cold (looking ahead to maybe a -20 degree day) I decided to keep the outside pictures to a minimum. I decided to do my first try on and most of y'all wanted to see what Express had to offer and I found some really great pieces from Valentine's Day to work and weekend wear.
These first two pieces I think would be great Valentine's options. It should be no secret at this point I love a jumpsuit. Generally, I think jumpsuits are flattering on most people and especially with the weather a pant option is preferable. This jumpsuit does also come in black, but I think the red is perfect for the romantic holiday. This hits at the natural waist and is TTS. You could easily layer over it a blazer or wrap. I am imagining a pointed nude heel or maybe a hint of leopard. My V-Day plans are more casual but if you were going to a nice dinner, this would be perfect.

This top is a little sexier. The back is completely open so you'll need to get creative but I liked it. It's definitely a midriff shirt, I am wearing a small here. You could size up for a little more length or pair it with a high waisted legging or skirt. These are actually my spanx leggings but I'll link a similar one at Express. I like this top for a more sultry Valentine's look, maybe not for everyone but I liked how unique it was.
This skirt jumped out to immediately. I have a thing about burgundy in that I love it. You could probably make a burgundy potato sack and I would love it. I assure you this is better than that. I think there is nothing chicer for work than a pencil girl. Any opportunity for a fun twist on that I am down. I love the tie detail on the side. A front tie has been in for a while and it's nice to see a change. This blouse top has a similar burgundy so I liked the matching with the skirt. The shirt actually rolls up in the front but I sized up so I could tuck it in, but you could wear this with pants too and it looks like a french tuck. The skirt is TTS and was 40% off in store.
This sweater is the first piece from the collab with Olivia Culpo and Express. She had some really cute stuff. Very athletic but high fashion chic. This top actually is paired with a jogger bottom, it also comes in grey. Its super soft and fuzzy. It's meant to be more casual wear so it has that feel. I am wearing a small so it's TTS, but you could size up if you are wanting more casual. I love the off the shoulder on this and you could wear it just off one shoulder. These jeans, it's hard to tell but have a red stripe down the side. I wasn't sure how I felt about that trend but it looks like it is here to stay and I really liked these ones. The pop of color is fun and would work well with a lot of the neutrals I have in my closet. These are more of a mid rise and the leggin was pretty tight so I would size up.
It is also a little cropped so I paired it with these high waisted jeans. The distressing around the ankle is what I really liked. That trend looks like it is going to be staying for this Spring and I will probably get on board. These jeans I would size up one. I could wear them but they were really snug, I wouldn't feel comfortable in them all day.

This was another top from the Olivia Culpo collab. The red really jumped out at me and I thought about a more casual Valentine's option. I have to be honest, this shirt is giving me serious 90s vibes. I think it's how tight it is. I haven't worn a shirt this tight sine about the 90s. I don't hate it though. I also love the button details, I am a huge fan of big buttons. Another off the shoulder vibe, which I am loving. Can't you just see this with a plaid skirt a la Clueless? The 90s girl in me is all "this is such a Betty." ;)
Last but not least was this casual top. I wanted to grab something from their more casual selection. They also have a great grouping of comfy tees and loungewear.I put this one immediately and was like "sold!" So, so comfortable and the way the sweater crosses in the front is so flattering. You know how sometimes it can lay in a way that highlights what you don't want? This falls at the perfect place and super chic. Although it is TTS I would recommend a bralette or cami underneath. It's a little low so you'll need something to prevent exposure. I definitely snagged this one yesterday.
That was just a quick round up. What was some of your favorites?
