Happy Monday! I have to be honest I am exhausted from this weekend. It was all fun but was not ready for this Monday morning. Let's start with Friday. I started getting sick on Thursday, caught a nasty cold. I had enough energy to push through Friday at work but when I got home pretty much passed out. Although I did not miss much because our Minnesota Wild lost their first playoff, probably best I was asleep for that.

On Saturday I met up with my friend Jackie to do a little bit of shopping. We had a friend's birthday party the next day and she was looking for an outfit to wear. We checked out a boutique I have been dying to see called Proper & Prim. It is located in Uptown, Minneapolis. I really loved it and bought a couple things that will be up on the blog soon so stay tuned. Unfortunately, Jackie did not find anything she loved so we were off. We went to Urban Outfitters and H &M. The latter was the winner scoring a cute maxi with the sheer overlay. She looked great! That night Derek and I went over to her house to help with a housing project. Derek and her husband worked on the house and Jackie and I cooked. I have never felt so domesticated in all my life. If you cannot tell from this blog, cooking and being domestic are not my forte. Sure I can make simple things like order Chinese and boil noodles. But beyond that I am hopeless. Thankfully Jackie is a wiz at this stuff and she helped me through it. She gave me some great tips on cooking techniques including showing me on how to chop Ghost-style (the movie not the phantom). It turned out pretty good and I feel more confident that I can try a few new things without poisoning myself and my guests.

Sunday was our friend's 30th birthday. She wanted to do a wine tour complete with a limo. It was so fun and girl knows how to put on a party! We picked up the limo in Edina and went to three wineries in Hastings (Alexis Bailey Winery), Cannon Falls (Cannon River Winery) and Red Wing (Falconer). Between each winery we played games she made and ate great snacks. I am not great at game playing and the more wine I drank the worse I got. But, the wineries were fantastic and we had some amazing wines. If I am being honest Alexis Bailey is by far and away my favorite. It is the first winery in Minnesota and they have a great ground area. I also thought they had the best selection of wine. The Falconer was fun because they were a little more relaxed, as if your hipster neighbor was making wine. The employees were tattooed and gave a healthy pour. Cannon River winery was fun because they had live music playing and they had some wine named after areas in St. Paul, which as a St. Paul native I was obsessed with. By the end of the day I felt pretty good. I hope our friend had as much fun as we did. Happy Birthday lady!! I felt honored to be invited.
Mixed drinks she made! Delish!

Smiley faces are the only way to rate wines, right?

Lastly the outfit for my day! I bought this dress from Primrose Park a few weeks ago when we had our Girls Night there. Good news about Primrose is that she has an online shop, bad news is this dress is not up there yet. I LOVE this dress. It is so comfortable and flattering. I love the feminine touches of color, movement and unique cut in the back. It was perfect for a beautiful day of wine tasting. It was a little short getting in and out of the limo so I had to make sure I walked like a lady. I paired them with my fav pair of nude heels, delicate gold jewelry and feminine clutch.
