Happy first Monday of October! October is my absolute favorite month. For me, it represents the epitome of Fall with cooler temps and changing colors. This season is not long enough and some seasons are too long (read: Winter). I am going to try and do some things that are exactly Fall activities this month. We'll see how we do. I had a fairly eventful weekend so let's get to it.

Friday was a relaxing night in, which was so necessary. As I get older life is always go, go, go and I get a rare moment to just relax and chill. I worked all day then came home. D worked a bit on our newest project of expanding the bathroom (yay!) before joining me on the couch. We were both ready to watch a movie or something but promptly fell asleep about 9:30-10:00. We just can't hang anymore.

Saturday we got up a bit early, because we fell asleep so early, and hit the gym. We had a few errands to run before meeting up with some friends. We are going to put new tile in our bathroom so we picked out a few samples then came home. We had an electrician coming to do some work in the bathroom and had to be home for that. My mom also swung by to give us some of her irises. I was going to help her plant them until I realized how much we had neglected our landscaping in the backyard. Weeds basically completely overtook the area so I ripped out as many as I could. Any good advice for keeping weeds at bay? It's ridiculous! I will weed and in three days there they are again. So frustrating.

That night we went to a friend's house to spend some time with our friend's from out of town. We had a BBQ and intended to have a fire. Then we got to talking about The Walking Dead and decided we needed to watch the first season of the show. So we did that instead. Totally. Worth it. We watched about 4-5 episodes before heading home, which is basically the whole first season anyway.

Sunday morning I had the brilliant idea of going to our favorite breakfast spot Fat Nat's.  It is the best local place, turn and burn diner. I had these amazing Huevo's Rancheros and I was full all day. I literally maybe ate a small snack but this was all I needed all day.  Afterwards we did a bit of grocery shopping and stopped at Home Depot for another thing for the bathroom renovation. D spent most of the day on that project. I did a little laundry and took care of some things around the house. We spent the night relaxing with some of our favorite TV before checking in for the night.

There is my "exciting" weekend. I am starting to think each weekend consists of "TV, home renovation, pass out, repeat." I joked with D I should change the name of my blog to "Passing Out With Meg." Not sure it has the same ring to it though...

Anyway, I do have some fun Fall fashion today. I found this shirt at Old Navy (yes Old Navy, thanks for the tip Candice) . I was in need  of a solid Lumberjack plaid top and for $24 you can't beat this. It has that cozy flannel material without being too stiff. It's a nice relaxed boyfriend fit. In fact I bought it a size bigger because I wanted it to hang more on me. Everyone needs a top like this, I think I will live in it this Fall. I paired it with my favorite distressed, black jeans from Express. These are the comfiest jeans I have ever worn in my whole life. Top it off with these old favorites Aldo for Target boots and Banana Republic fringe purse. This makes me a feel a bit hipstery and I got admit, I don't hate it.
