I'm back! Sorry for not posting in a week, life has gotten totally nuts. I know I have said it before but I have been swamped with work, mostly. That and taking care of Reese and salvaging my personal life, something had to give. I always want to make sure the content I put out is worthy of your time in reading it. I never want to put out rushed posts and only want to give you all the best!  From time to time as I work out the new challenges of my life I may miss a day here and there, but I'll be back and I hope you'll join me! That said, Happy Monday!

This was a really busy weekend. I had something going on every day, but it was all so fun! Friday I met my dad, one of his good friend's and his daughter (who happens to be married to my cousin) for a concert. My dad and I go to lots of concerts together. Typically we go to see more modern bands we both like. This time he was already planning to go see Cinderella, an old 80s rock band, with them and asked if I wanted to tag along. I like rock but I don't listen to a lot of old stuff. However, I thought it might be a fun experience. The concert was at this place called The Medina Ballroom and I thought it might be...interesting. I was so right. Two bands opened for them, I won't name them, but honestly, they were two steps away from terrible. One was a local rock group who looked more like a caricature of an 80s rock band. The second took themselves a bit too seriously. Thankfully there were tables so we sat through the first two bands. When Cinderella came on we got up close to the stage. It was the lead singers birthday that night, he is 57 years old. I gotta be honest, his voice was still pretty amazing. I was super impressed. You can really tell the difference between professionals at shows like this. They were just clean, efficient and a lot of fun. I wound up having a great time.

Saturday was our family's annual spaghetti dinner. My dad's side is Italian and my great grandparents were Italian immigrants, so the pasta is legit! My nonna and great aunt and my uncle make most of main course. We always have this amazing garlic bread too that I could eat for days, salad and some minor desserts. They aren't huge sugar people, which after all the pasta is totally fine. Spending time with my family is always fun and there are a few more kids running around, which makes it more of an adventure. Reese did really well and got her first taste of spaghetti and meatballs. She definitely approved.

Sunday I attended the Minneapolis Bloggers Union's first meet up. Truthfully, I was happy to be invited. So many amazing bloggers in town with greater followings than mine. Anytime I get included in something like this, I' m always metaphorically turning around looking for someone else. I also was super nervous. For someone who talks for a living, I am truly an introvert. At work, I am confident and I can give guidance and direction without a hesitation. In life, not so much. It is definitely hard for me to meet new people without someone I know by my side. I really debated not going out of anxiety. I talked with a lovely local lady in town and she encouraged me to go so I went. honestly had a great time. I met a bunch of new ladies who are killin' it blog lady style. Almost everyone had a similar story to start with but have their own unique take on this fashion blogging thing. It was held at the beautiful Brick x Mortar with some sips and treats. They talked about having speakers are future meetups and I really can't wait to go again!

Back at home with my love bug

So there is my weekend in a nutshell! I have a few looks from my weekend in the can but I thought I would start with my blogger meet up look. I found this gorgeous tassel dress from local fav Proper +  Prim . When I first saw it I thought it would be great for my upcoming trip to Mexico. When I tried it on it is a bit more lined than I thought so it definitely works for this time of year too. For a meet up I wanted to represent my brand so I think all black was definitely the way to go ;) I wanted to add some class and edge so I layered a few delicate necklaces for some shimmer without taking away from the tassel detail. I also thought this fur stol would be the perfect addition to make this feel a little more winter-esque. Throw on a pair of heels and tights and I was ready to go.
