It's that time of year again. The one day a year couple's feel obligated to go to dinner and single people feel obligated to groan about it. I sound positive right? My own feelings about Valentine's Day are mixed. On one hand it is quite possibly the most superficial holiday of the year. Totally designed to just spend money. I can easily see the argument for "I can show my love for you any other day of the year." On the other hand we don't do that so what is wrong with carving out some time for your significant other? This year we will not be partaking but, hey, a girl can dream of a good outfit right? If I had to pick from some of the items in my closet already I would probably grab this jumpsuit from this summer or this low cut dress from this fall. I have to say I am obsessed with this jumpsuit and am dying for a reason to wear it again. I will find a reason.

I thought it would be fun to create some dream looks for Valentine's Day. In the spirit of this I am connecting with Candice (She's Leaning In) for the full make up look to coordinate with these looks. I also originally envisioned just one look. After perusing the sites I got too excited so I made two. Sue me. Be sure to pop over to Candice's blog when you are done to get some amazing lipsticks for the romantic day.

ROMANTIC FLIRTY
valentine's day 1

The first look is a bit more daring but romantic. I am having a moment with shoulders exposed. That is why I love this off the shoulder dress. I personally think and exposed neck and collar are very sexy and this is the perfect dress to show that off. The dress is very exposing so I thought I would stay more conservative with the shoe and accessories. I have been obsessed with lace up heels lately and thought this was the perfect way to accessorize this dress. To coincide with and naked collar I found these amaze drop earrings. I mean, come on. How gorg are these? I typically am obsessed with a lot of rings but I thought this was a standout and you don't even need a bracelet or watch. It would simply muddy the water. Simple and chic darling.

MODERN LOVE

Valentine's day 2
Dress / Earrings / Bracelet / Ring / Shoes / Purse

I like this look for a more conservative girl. Not only does this dress cover a little more skin but for those of us who are not a size 2 this dress has a silhouette to cover what we do not want seen. What I also love about this dress that it is the perfect blank canvas to add dramatic accessories. Namely these shoes. I saw these shoes at Express over the weekend and knew I would use them in this post. It includes all the items that are popular including tassels and fringe. Love! Then I saw these tassel earrings and bracelet. Top it off with a great simple ring and delicate clutch and you have a modern, soft look.

There ya have it! What are you going to wear for Valentine's Day or Galentine's Day if you are spending it with your ladies :) Which of these two looks would you pick? Leave me a comment below I would love to hear from you.
