Summer Sweater / My Monochromatic Life

As I have said before this summer overall has been a really hot one. We have barely gotten to open our windows and going outside has basically been like a sauna. I hate to complain about the heat because in January we will be freezing our tails off, but the heat and humidity gets really old after a while.

About a week ago we finally got a break. The humidity, for now, is all but gone. It still gets pretty warm in the day but the nights cool down to the high 60s and the mornings have a refreshing coolness. It has been glorious.

With that said my outfits can start to change a bit on these mornings. Now I am not really for full-fledged fall, it's still August, but I can start to play with some different textures. I am a big supporter of all these whites, off-whites we have been seeing all summer. I was doing my ~~daily~~ periodic walkthrough of my local Target when I saw this perfect sweater. I loved the relaxed fit and the wide knit of the sweater. It's still a sweater material, but the openness allows for a more breathable top. I have seen this kind of top in a long sleeve before but not often in a short sleeve. I just bought it without trying it on and it fit like a glove. It definitely needs a bralette otherwise you can see through. It's casual but kind of yacht chic. I imagine wearing this at one of those lakeside restaurants. This exact top I bought on sale and could not find online, however, I linked a few similar ones. I decided to pair it with my absolute favorite distressed denim that go with everything. These are older, but super easy to find similar ones. They fit like a glove and balance out the loose fit of the top. As much as I really love a neutral palette, I can't resist an opportunity to wear these Rebecca Minkoff earrings. So summery and fun! I thought the bright contrast with the white top is quintessential summer!
